Crappy New Year
I hope that you all had fun celebrating and toasting and kissing your loved ones. I had the worst two days of my life so far. I won't bore you with all the details, but in a nutshell, my heart has been torn out and stomped on and then run over by a semi-truck. I am the saddest girl in the world right now.
In other news, as a result of such a god-awful two days, I have put my butt in gear and have found two apartments. And I have two more to look at. One of them I know I can have. I just want to look inside the other two before I commit to the first. But I am lucky that I have a friend who works for a property management company who, even though he was terribly hung over, agreed to come with me and take my applications and put the word in for me. So if you all don't hear from me on a consistent basis, it is just because I am packing and getting ready to move.
Nothing like diving head-first into the resolutions, huh?

do you need help packing? i would be more than happy to help... seriously. i kick ass at packing. my parents moved at least 16 times when i was a kid. no exaggeration...

Geez Mel, I'm sorry to hear that your year has started out badly. It's good that you've jumped into the moving project. That will help keep you from thinking too much about the heart stomping. That's so sad. So sorry to hear that. I guess no one can say anything to help in these situations either. Just remember we're all here for you, like our own little version of Friends. Everybody... altogether now:

if you need a cyber-shoulder to lean on i've got two you can choose from. like ian said, we're like a weird cyber version of friends (only i won't stoop so low as to sing that song... ha!) hand in there! get yourself a brand spankin' new faboo apartment and then we can all come over and party for your housewarming! i could use a trip to sunny california (even if it IS filled with sharks!!)

That makes me a sad, sad boy. I'm sorry your year sucks. I'm sending you a c-mail invite. It's like Google, but instead of email, it's a horrible curse that you can inflict on someone. I've given this one an added case of chalmydia.
